Allen Mill provides an exciting experience with its unique mix of shops, tourist attractions and services. A visitor centre set in an area of outstanding natural beauty overlooking the Allen river. Located in the outskirts of the North Pennine market town of Allendale (which was voted village of the year in the 2007 UK Calor competition) is just 15 minutes south of Hexham on the A69 from Newcastle upon Tyne to Carlisle. This exciting destination was originally the centre of lead smelting in the 17th century.
